An independent software studio

A studio for software
built deliberately.

Sand Point Studios is an independent software studio on the shore of Saginaw Bay in Michigan. We build our own products, partner with other independents on joint ventures, and take on custom engineering work when the fit is right.

Our products

Seven things we build, with our own hands.

Applications built and owned by Sand Point Studios. Each card reflects the current build state honestly — live means you can use it today, in-development means it is being actively worked on, pre-alpha means we are still laying foundations.

Mobile game In development

Right Bower

Local-multiplayer euchre for your kitchen table.

A faithful euchre game for iOS and Android, built for the way the game is actually played — at a table, with people you know. Free to play against the AI. A one-time host unlock enables hosting a local-WiFi game so guests can join for free from their own phones. No ads, no subscription, no internet required.

Voice AI · Tabletop In development

Wyrdlyre

A voice-driven AI Dungeon Master for tabletop role-playing.

Players speak, an AI Dungeon Master narrates back — in character, with expressive voice, across every edition from AD&D 1e to 5e 2024. Runs locally on your machine, uses your own API key, and supports distributed party play over the web. Bring the DM when the DM can’t make it.

Embeddable help desk In development

No Wake Zone

An embeddable help desk that answers quietly, without disrupting your users.

A single script tag puts No Wake Zone on any website. It answers visitor questions from your own documentation using a local language model — no inference bills, no data leaving your servers, and no intrusive chat bubble demanding attention. Multi-tenant by design, with per-tenant knowledge bases and isolated conversations.

Mobile · Calendar AI Live

EventInk

Turn photos of event flyers into calendar entries.

Snap a picture of a concert poster, a school schedule, a dentist card, or an email screenshot. EventInk reads the date and time, drafts an Outlook calendar entry, and lets you confirm it in one tap. Includes an Outlook add-in that drafts scheduling replies from your inbox.

Maker tool · Generative design Live

Laser Cut Generator

Three ways to turn an idea into a laser-ready file.

Three modes in one tool. Map mode generates topographic LightBurn files from real geographic data. Generative mode takes a written prompt and Claude designs layered artwork around it. Image-trace mode converts a photograph into a layered, cut-ready design with fidelity QA. Targets the xTool P3 80W CO2 laser but exports clean SVG and DXF.

Accounting · AI CFO Live

Agoge Ledger

An AI CFO for owner-operators running multiple LLCs.

Multi-entity accounting with a GAAP chart of accounts, immutable double-entry ledger, Section 179 + MACRS depreciation handled side-by-side, QuickBooks Online sync for receipt reconciliation, and a natural-language query agent that runs locally on your own hardware. Receipt vision via Claude, text reasoning via a local 70B model. We built it to run our own books on and run it self-hosted. Commercial launch is not planned — this card is here for transparency about what the studio actually runs.

Personal AI · Ambient In design

Vigil Steward

A locally-hosted ambient personal AI operating system.

An always-on ambient AI layer that watches your email, calendar, finances, and documents — runs local agents for long-form tasks, surfaces decisions that need your attention, and keeps all of it on your own hardware behind a Tailscale-only firewall. No cloud accounts, no vendor lock-in, no data leaves the box. A multi-year build: the dedicated server is being assembled this week and the software has six phases scaffolded with 200+ API routes on the table. We put this card here to show the work, not to sell it.

Development partnerships

Three entities we build alongside.

Where Sand Point Studios is the engineering partner, not the product owner. Joint ventures with other independents, and a sibling studio handling AI, EdTech, and SaaS work.

Sand Point Studios is the development partner behind OneCut Shop, a forty-five-tool woodshop suite organized into four workshops — design, calculators, reference, and shop management. Runs offline on iOS, Android, and the web on a zero-recurring-cost stack. Currently in private beta ahead of commercial release under OneCut Studios.

Sand Point Studios is the development partner behind the FinishOps platform — AI-powered estimating, bid packs, scheduling, and field workflow for finishing contractors. First customer is S&S Home Finishes LLC; long-term target is a multi-tenant SaaS for trades businesses across residential and commercial finishing work.

Sand Point Studios has contributed development to several Agoge Development products, from education-grading at university scale to content production pipelines. Each is its own product with its own roadmap; SPS provides the engineering hands.

The studio

A small bench on the bay.

Sand Point Studios is a Michigan limited liability company, named after Sand Point in Huron County — the thumb of the mitten, on the Saginaw Bay side. The studio builds software the way you would build something out of wood: pick a piece worth keeping, take your time on the joints, and don’t hide the marks.

We’re building a small team. We also take on custom builds when the fit is right — especially work that benefits from a small studio that writes its own code and ships it. If you have a project that would fit, we would like to hear about it.

  • Local-first Where it makes sense, your data stays on your hardware. No mandatory cloud round-trips.
  • Bring your own keys For products that use AI: pay the model provider directly. We don’t want a margin on inference.
  • Honest status Cards on this page show real build state. No vaporware, no preview videos for things that don’t exist yet.
  • Built to last Boring stacks where they work. New tools only when the old ones run out.
